WHAT DO RED PANDAS EAT?
Red pandas eat mostly bamboo, but they may also eat small mammals, eggs, flowers and berries. According to research, red pandas in captivity have eaten maple leaves, mulberry leaves, bark, and fruits from maple, beech, and mulberry trees. They might even eat mushrooms, roots, acorns, lichens, and grasses. Red pandas also eat fish and insects, occasionally. Red pandas can't digest cellulose so they need to consume a lot of bamboo to survive. However, bamboo is hard to digest so they need to eat the tender parts of it, being the bamboo shoots and leaves.
